This visit to The Old Adelaide Gaol was an unscheduled one after our previous plans needed to be changed, but I am very pleased to say that the visit was well and truly worth it.
A brief history
The out side of the gaol is rather foreboding. I could certainly appreciate the apprehension felt by the prisoners about to be incarcerated within it's walls...Some of course, never leaving.
Inside, the walls were thick and cold, the cells small and dank. Not a pleasant place.
During our self guided tour many cell doors were open and we could get a sense of what it was like to be behind bars and prisoners were keep within their cells for up to 15 hours per day, (though I didn't want to shut the door).
In some of the cells I noticed a distinct temperature change, a sudden drop made the cell extremely cold and I didn't want to stay in them for very long, others didn't give me the same feeling.
Many prisoners went in and never came back out...

So, overall my impression of ghostly activity? Except for the occasional cold spot I didn't get a haunted feel about the gaol, I did sense an unhappy atmosphere though but that may have been my own sadness thinking about the prisoners that were incarcerated here, it wouldn't have been pleasant.
Now, that's my impression...
What about the photos that were taken in those cold spots?
Is The Old Adelaide Gaol haunted?
Take a look at the following photos (two different cameras) and make up your own mind. :)

These two photos may look like the same photo but they were taken moments apart.
(though in the same cell).

Until next we meet
